On Friday January 26, the ACHS wrestling team stepped on the mat to face against Grayslake. The wrestlers had some great matches as well as some great coaching from Wilbur Borrero.

Great plays came from sophomores Alex Barbarise, Luke Menzies and Elijah Reyes. Some other good plays game from seniors Alex Schreider and RJ Vazquez.

The boys fought extremely hard, especially since it was their senior night, however they were unable to hold back the strong defense of the Rams. The boys continued to fight back against the Rams but were unable to keep their opponent tamed.

Although the Sequoits were struggling to hold their lead, they still continued to push against their opponent. Each match became harder for both teams and almost every match was close.

With the end of the match closing in, both teams continued to fight to the point of exhaustion. In the end the Sequoits were holding off Grayslake well, but were unable to pull off a win with a final score of 34-32.

The Sequoits plan to keep moving forward towards regionals and the desired goal of state. Come watch the Sequoits in their next meet at home for their regionals on Saturday, February 3.
