Recently, social media was blown up by teenage girls obsessing over an attractive Target employee.

It all started with a tweet with a photo of an average 16-year-old named Alex, who evidently works at Target. By the use of the internet, Alex gained over 300,000 Twitter followers in 24 hours soley from a random photo taken of him at work.

Over the time that Alex was “famous,” he appeared on Ellen, received a multitude of marriage proposals and day in and day out gained many more publicity all over social media. Talk about being famous for no reason.

Antioch Community High School junior Ashley Hare said, “He doesn’t really deserve the fame but it’s not his fault that teenagers got obsessive.” When one really thinks about the situation, Alex was just working at the register when he became famous.

There is a rumor that Alex is a hoax and is solely used to gain attention to Target.

ACHS junior Nick Andre who currently works at Target said, “Alex from Target got blown out of proportion. I heard it was all a marketing campaign and it obviously worked very well.”

Alex from Target definitely had his 15 minutes of fame from just another day at work. As his craze winds down, Alex will always be known as the “hot guy” who works at Target.
