ADMINISTRATION: School Protocol Update for Sept. 2

Bradford Hubbard, ACHS Principal

Good morning Sequoit Students, Staff, and Parents/Guardians,

In communication with our administrative team this morning, we are going to run a normal school day with a few minor safety additions.  As our students enter the building this morning, they will find that our exterior doors are locked and they will be greeted by a staff member.  Additionally, all of our activities throughout the course of the day will be held indoors.  Our PE classes, Driver Education students, and other classes will be asked to stay inside.  Any visitors to our school will need to have approval and proper identification to enter…this is standard protocol.
At this point, we have no information suggesting any kind of threat to our learning environment, however, we want to make sure we are prudent in looking out for the safety of our students and staff.
Finally, students checking in and out of the office will be handled based on our normal protocol.  Students may leave with parent/guardian permission and they may return to school by checking back in through the office.
I appreciate your understanding and assure you that we are being vigilant as this fluid situation continues to unfold.  We will remain in contact with our local police departments throughout the day.
Information regarding after school activities and Tech Campus will be forthcoming.
Please contact us with any questions.
Respectfully,
Brad Hubbard
