Antioch Community High School to honor Veteran’s within the community through special Assembly

As District 117 makes it a point to honor and celebrate United States veterans each year on the country’s national day of remembrance for these citizens, the yearly Veterans Day Assembly is to take place Friday morning. Beginning at 9:45 in the North Gym of Antioch Community High School, the open event will feature recognized personnel from all branches of military along with a performance by the school’s choir, band and orchestra. In addition to a slideshow that will display submitted photographs of current family veterans related to those in the school, service personnel, veterans and families are invited to attend the honorary event.

Veteran’s Day is an opportunity to recognize, honor, and thank the men and women that serve and have served our country,” Principal Bradford Hubbard said. “We have a profound sense of gratitude for their service and appreciate being afforded the opportunity to open our doors, welcome our veterans, and demonstrate the pride we have in their commitment to our nation.”

The Antioch community hopes that this honorary event will serve as an important reminder to students and staff of the sacrifices veterans have made and currently make each day in order to ensure safety, liberty and freedom for all Americans.

“ACHS takes great pride in being a part of this supportive community,” Grant Murray said. “As part of our dedication to civic engagement, it is very important for our staff and students to continue the positive relationship we have with the veterans in our community.”
