Accidental Fire Drill
September 11, 2014
Around 9 a.m. yesterday morning, students at Antioch Community High School emptied the building due to a mysterious fire alarm that went off. The students all exited the school in an orderly fashion even though there have been no practices this school year so far.
“The students and the staff did a great job in exiting the building we [administration] were really happy about that, there were a few mess ups and crowded areas but we will get that straightened up for the next time. It’s good to practice these things, so just in case something happens we will be prepared,” said ACHS dean Wilbur Borrero.
According to Borrero, the cause of the fire alarm going off has not been determined, but it may be the result of overheating in the boiler room.
