A Recap of Last Season
Boys basketball looks back on last year as they seek a fresh start.
Last year the Sequoit basketball team had a great run, ending with a positive record by the end of the season. The boys worked their hardest and are ready to push themselves even harder than before.
The Sequoits used their amazing offense and great defense to win their games and are planning to do so this year. The team won most of their games ending with a 15-11 record.
“During the beginning of the season the team struggled to work as a team,” sophomore boys basketball coach Arnold Glapajone said. “Towards the end of the season the team really impressed me and the other coaches when they learned to work as a team when it counted.”
The team was also able to push their limits and win the regional tournament against both Carmel Catholic and North Chicago high school. In the beginning of the season the team was able to pull off wins against both Woodstock North and Wauconda, however lost against Marian Central and Mundelein.
During mid-season, the Sequoits barely fell short to their rival Lakes Community High School and fought as hard as they could to pull out a win.
Towards the end of the season the Sequoits almost beat North Chicago and Lakes Community High School during the regular season and the playoffs.
Come watch the Sequoits in their new season. The Sequoits plan to have a great season and hope to end the season with another winning record.
