A New Face In Student Services Department

Meghan Bargar hired as Assistant Principal for 2016-2017 school year at ACHS.

After an extensive search and interview process, Antioch Community High School hired Meghan Bargar as its new Assistant Principal for the start the 2016-2017 school year. Before coming to Antioch, Bargar was a Dean of Students at Glenbrook South High School. However, with this being her first administrative role in the high school setting, she has lots of plans for her newly received position and is excited for what’s to come in the future.

“[The job is] exciting, challenging and full of opportunity,” said Bargar.

Despite her being transferred from a slightly larger school, she is looking forward to the small, family-like atmosphere that Antioch and its surrounding downtown area offers.

“I love that the high school is the center of our town,” Bargar said. “Coming from a school with so many kids, and coming here and having 1,400 students is great for forming those positive and quality relationships, and allows you to really get to know your students.”

One of Bargar’s current priorities is getting to know the staff and the student body she is beginning to work with, which she admits is not an issue as most everyone has welcomed her with kindness and respect.

“Everyone has been really accepting and the staff is just wonderful,” she explained.
As she continues with her position as Assistant Principal within the Student Services Department, Bargar hopes to be able to further her personal connection with those she is working with and to instill a positive impact among the lives of the ACHS student body.
