A Homemade Christmas Gift
DIY Christmas gifts for friends and family.
Do it yourself crafts are creative and so much fun. Giving a homemade gift is thoughtful and means more than just buying something from Bath and Body Works.
“I like to make bath bombs and scrubs for friends and family because they really appreciate them,” freshman Bridget Nauman said.
Bath scrubs are incredibly easy to make. First, the ingredients needed are 1 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla and a ½ cup of vegetable oil. One can adjust the vegetable oil and sugar if they would like a dryer or more wet scrub. Essential oils can be added to help aid with relaxation, too. These are great for exfoliating and smell amazing.
Bath bombs are also just as easy as scrubs. For those one would need a ½ cup of baking soda, ¼ cup of cornstarch, ¼ cup of Epsom salt, ¼ cup of citric acid, 3 to 4 tsp of coconut oil, 1 to 2 teaspoons of water, and a few drops of essential oils. Once those are combined, they can be put into molds in the freezer. Especially with finals coming up, these DIYs are a great way to take a break from school and relax.
“I like crafting because it gives me time to myself,” Nauman said.
Just like that, two simple, sweet homemade gifts are created.
